Lindsay Lohan Rejects Plea Deal, Will Take Chances with Trial

Lindsay Lohan has rejected a plea deal that includes jail time and has opted to go to trial in her felony grand theft case.
On March 10, Judge Keith Schwartz gave Lohan 15 more days to decide whether or not she will plead guilty or no contest to charges, and last week,MFC reported the actress was considering taking the plea deal, even though it meant serving time.
Now, however, Lohan has decided to roll the dice and go to trial.
Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley says in a statement: “Ms. Lohan has maintained her innocence from the moment this case was filed and she has never wavered.”
“Though many advised her to follow the safe route by taking ‘the deal’, the truth is, Ms. Lohan is innocent; she has a strong defense; and we are confident that a jury will listen to the evidence fairly and acquit her.”
The case will now be sent to Judge Stephanie Sautner for a preliminary hearing on April 22, during which the new judge will decide whether Lohan violated her probation.
If convicted, the Mean Girls star risks going to state prison for up to three years.
What do you think of Lohan’s decision?
