AnnaSophia Robb and Bethany Hamilton are now sharing more than just their love of surfing.
The girls will both receive Maverick Awards during the Cinequest Film Festival on March 12th. Bethany with receive the special Life of a Maverick Award and AnnaSophiawill be honored with Cinequest’s Emerging Maverick Award.
Soul Surfer tells the true, inspirational story of Bethany Hamilton. Bethany (played by Robb) fought to return to the ocean and surfing after losing an arm in a shark attack at the young age of thirteen.
