Alex Pettyfer wasn’t always enthused about his role in I Am Number Four, in fact — he walked out!
The 20-year-old actor told Vanity Fair magazine that he didn’t even make an effort at his audition. “When I went into the auditioning room, I didn’t even read. I said to them, ‘I really think I’m wrong for this part. I’m really sorry for wasting your time.’ And I walked out,” Alex confessed.
Lucky for us, director D.J. Caruso felt otherwise.
Alex added about the role of John, “It has this very Bourne-esque quality to it, with a spice of Rebel Without a Cause. It was very physical. I trained for two months before I started the movie.”
I Am Number Four hits theaters on February 18th!
